Theater
This theater was built in 1948 by C.V. Crocker and his father. The architect was from New York City. Richard and Norma Dudley purchased the theater in 1972, as well as the Drive-In. Ulysses Drive In This drive-in theater was built in 1952 by C.B. Crocker and father on 10 acres of land and could accommodate 300 cars. At the time it was located 1 mile from town. At the time of its demolition in 1992, it was within the city limits. The screen was built with 12-inch steel beams and anchored in 7 feet of concrete. This was done to withstand the high winds of southwest Kansas. It was purchased in 1972 by Richard and Norma and closed in 1987. |
